    Elected Professor Yun Suk-Min of Korea University as Chairperson of the Organizing Committee for the 3rd AOSIVA. Organized its Secretariat at the Department of Anesthesiology and Pain Medicine of Korea University Anam Hospital. Selected Professor Jeon Jaegyu as the Director of the 3rd AOSIVA.

    Held a journal review meeting to prepare the 3rd AOSIVA at Samsung Medical Center (every third Monday at 7 PM).

    Held the 6th KISVA Symposium at the Main Auditorium of Kyung Hee University under the theme "Intravenous Anesthetics outside the Operation Room" with an additional lecture on opioids. Elected Professor Yun Suk-Min of Korea University as the new President.

  3. September 13-15

    Held the 3rd AOSIVA in Seoul (Sheraton Walker Hill), South Korea. The 3rd Congress of the Asian Oceanic Society for Intravenous Anesthesia was held on September 13-15, 2001 at Sheraton WalkerHill, Seoul, South Korea. There were 430 participants from 19 countries including 90 foreign participants, 315 Korean participants, and representatives from 25 companies. AOSIVA 2001 offered a variety of programs, including the opening ceremony, eight sessions, a TIVA Trainer Workshop, 33 Poster Discussions (25 persons from four countries), and a Luncheon Seminar with 22 speakers and 26 moderators. Although speakers from the US and Malaysia could not make it due to the unexpected consequences of the 9/11 terrorist attack, AOSIVA was able to proceed thanks to EuroSIVA participants including Professor Kenny (UK)delivering lectures. Related companies also participated in the exhibition event (25 companies and 35 booths). Welcome Reception, Gala Night, and Farewell Party were held as official events.
